Out of Jakarta at five, in Bandung by lunch

I left at five in the morning so the toll road would still be quiet. The Himalayan felt heavy with a full tank and side bags I had just weighed: 31 kilos, lighter than I feared.

Through Cipularang, off at Pasteur, then slowly into Braga. The afternoon rain arrived just as I found a tiny coffee stall in a back alley, so we sat for a long time and went over the twelve days ahead.
